Parents can remove any contact at any time Parents can use sleep mode to set times when their child cannot use the app. Messages don't disappear and can't be hidden in case parents would like to check in. There are no ads or in-app purchases, and the app is free to download. Latest Update: Messenger Kids is adding new games to teach online safety Messenger Kids has launched new activities on its platform aiming at teaching internet etiquette to children. According to Messenger Kids Pledge, “be kind, be respectful, be safe and have fun” are the tenets of younger users. The first episode title “Be Kind” includes two games that teach online safety and awareness to children. Compared to its competitors like TikTok, Facebook has lost a lot of teenage users in recent years.  So Meta teaching a whole new generation how to use one of its products would seem right in line with its need to get younger users and keep them playing along. Latest updates: Facebook  announced the launch of Messenger Kids in more than 70 new countries and new features that will gradually roll out in different markets. As schools around the world remain closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the new features are designed to let kids increase their contacts on the app under parental supervision. The first new feature, called Supervised Friending, which lets parents turn on an option that allows their children to accept, reject, add and remove contacts. The second new feature allows parents to approve other adults, like teachers, to add their kids to group chats. The third feature, now available in the U.S., Canada and Latin America, allows parents to make their child’s profile name and photo visible to a circle of users that includes friends of their kids’ contacts and their parents, children of parents’ Facebook friends who also have Messenger Kids, and the children of people parents invite to download the app. Kids Have More Fun Kid-appropriate stickers, GIFs, frames and emojis help kids creatively express themselves. One-on-one or group video calls come to life with fun, interactive masks. The feature-filled camera lets kids create videos and decorate photos to share with loved ones. Works with Messenger Parents and parent-approved adults chat with kids through Messenger. Works on all tablets and smartphones. No phone number is needed - you only need Wi-Fi. Made Safer for Kids Creating a Messenger Kids account for a child does not create a Facebook account for them. Parents and guardians use their own Facebook accounts to create a Messenger Kids account for their child. Kids have the option to report or block contacts and report inappropriate content. If a child submits a report, their parent or guardian will be notified. We're always working to improve Messenger Kids.
